Recognising and
Treating ADHD

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that normally run in families as genetically inherited. Characterised by persistent patterns of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity (combined or not). ADHD looks differently in adulthood and symptoms are more likely be internalised/ masked and less obvious. ADHD poses unique challenges to those diagnosed and those around them. Treatment for ADHD typically involves a combination of medication, behavioural strategies and educational support. Alessandra provides ADHD assessment for adults only.

She has a special interest in helping neurodivergent adults who have been missed, overlooked or undiagnosed in childhood and come to this realisation later on in their life.

Consulting a healthcare professional, such as a paediatrician, psychiatrist, or psychologist, is crucial for an accurate diagnosis and comprehensive treatment plan. They can perform evaluations and monitor the effectiveness of treatments.
